Fish Eye

This fishy little tale is an off-centre documentary, told through the eyes of a carp.

Christmas is coming in Prague and fishy on a dishy is the traditional fayre. The carp is quite chuffed to be part of the proceedings, but mourning the glory days of the past when people cared more for their traditions.

Shot in black-and-white, there is a poetic grace to this short, which leaves you wanting more. From the energy of the fish swimming their last few strokes before hitting the block to the mellifluous tones of narrator Pavel Marek whose voice runs like honey over the images, Margot Buff's little film is a clever take on a simple subject.
